Finest Quality And Attention To Detail
Here at Black Antler Designs, we never compromise on quality. Each piece is meticulously handmade by Olly, from the initial designs to the final stitch. Usability, durability and style are all aways in mind throughout the design process, whether working with a classic design or a brand new one.
The best possible hides are selected for each project by weight and tanning method used (some leathers are softer than others and make a great lining, while others are more water-resistant and make a great bag exterior). There will be some natural markings like small scars, but each hide is carefully inspected for weak spots and imperfections. Although we think these marks are beautiful and tell a story, they make a piece of leather inherently weaker than a clean, unmarked piece, so we do our best to navigate around them. This is a more expensive way to cut leather, but it makes for a better quality, more durable final product.
Our products combine tradtional craftsmanship with a modern flair. Great attention is paid to every detail, from pattern cutting to hand burnished and polished edges. The shotgun cartriges that we use decoratively are recycled from local shoots, giving a new purpose to something that is currently quite difficult to recycle.
